Caffe Delfini: A Culinary Gem in Santa Monica, CA

Great food, right a cross the street from a very trendy and a bit over rated Italian restaurant. Wish more people gave this place a try. Great service and classic dishes with great wine selection!

Mixed feelings. The pasta was excellent but the steak and veal was just okay. The steak had too much Worcester sauce that you could not appreciate the neat flavor, though the meat was very tender. The veal was a little bit tough... how was that possible... it's veal. The server seems to be a little bit annoyed, we didn't know if he had a bad day or something else. Understanding that this is a gourmet, a little bit hig end restaurant, we expected more. We are not sure if it is really worth to come back.

Went to Caffe Delfini for dinner with my friend who was in town visiting. I am celiac so was happy to find out there was a lot of gluten free options on the menu and the staff was very accommodating to ensure I had a great meal and experience! We got the beet salad as a starter and split pesto pasta and carbonara as our mains, everything was absolutely delicious and the staff was so kind! We chose not to get dessert but they brought over gluten free cookies complementary with our check and they were really good! Overall would come back to Caffe Delfini!

Chef boyardee ravioli is better, and another dish can be made just as good at home. Overly salty. Annoying unexpected 3.5% fee; the food's already expensive - just increase the prices a dollar or two and don't be weirdly subversive about it.

This place boasts a fantastic atmosphere and is a landmark in West LA. I've visited a few times, mainly because it's a reliable choice for Italian cuisine. However, there was a notable incident during our last visit on New Year's Eve. We were recommended a special dish, white truffle raviolis, without being informed about its $140 price tag, which was a surprise we only discovered upon receiving the bill. While this experience has made us hesitant about returning, I'm reluctant to leave a too negative review based on this single occurrence, hence a 4 stars. However just ensure they communicate clearly their specials pricing.

Bless this place for being close to Ginger Rogers Beach and allowing us to dine here severely underdressed in our tank tops and swim shorts! Service was really friendly and welcoming and we were happy to dine here after a long day at the beach. It's a nice and cozy establishment that serves freshly made pastas with a hearty touch. My favorite pasta was the Squid Ink that had pieces of squid and shrimp. The Eggplant Appetizers was delish too!!

We got engaged here 30 years ago and always return for our anniversary (and other times in between) The food is excellent, the room is romantic and cozy, the service is great and the owners treat everyone like family. The area has recently seen the arrival of checkpoints for entering the Palisades due to the fires but it’s easy to access the restaurant and valet parking - don’t be dissuaded by the lights and cones - you can still get in and out easily!
